Blockchain,means "block chain". This name came about because each transaction represents a block. All transactions involving this cryptocurrency are connected and interlinked in the blockchain.

Let's take an example: Sergio mines a cryptocurrency. In this action, a block is created. The next day, he sells this block to Maria. Thus, another block is created, which is linked to the previous one.

Thus, we have the blockchain, which allows cryptocurrencies to exist.
